Fox 2000 gets 'Reboot'

Fox 2000 has decided to "Reboot," snapping up feature rights to Amy Tintera's yet-to-be-published novel and setting the fuuturistic project with Peter Chernin and Vast Entertainment CEO Lane Shefter Bishop.Rights deal closed Friday.Pic will be developed as a suspenseful action-thriller set in a futuristic world where the population is afflicted by a deadly virus, and teenagers are "rebooted" after death to become vicious soldiers. An unlikely pair use their new found powers to join forces and overthrow the organization that has corrupted their world.Rights to the novel just sold to Harper Collins and will be the first in a series by Tintera.Fox-based Chernin produced "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" as well as TV series "Terra Nova" and "Breakout Kings." Vast Entertainment is producing the feature films "The DUFF" with McG and his Wonderland Sound & Vision for CBS Films, and "Hemlock" with Akiva Goldsman and his Weed Road Pictures. Vast is also producing the TV series "Call Me Crazy" with Scott Stuber for NBC, and "The Investigator" with Jonathan Prince at Fox, based on Anne Perry's novels.Bishop is repped by Paradigm.
